Mozenrath is one of the villains of Disney´s Tv series Aladdin. After Abys Mal he is the most recurring of the villains, being featured in 9 episodes, and he may be Aladdin´s most dangerous opponent. As a sorcerer he rules the Land of the Black Sand. He gained control over it when he overthrew the reign of is former master and sort of father figure Destane - a sorcerer that was feared even by Jarfar. The land is populated by the Mamlocks, undead servants to Mozenrath, that use to fall apart whenever being beaten.

Mozenrath´s motives for his evilness origin in his greed for power. Though being a pretty powerful sorcerer already he is always seeking for magical devices and other chances to increase his power. After having been beaten by Aladdin and his friends for the first time he also keeps drawing motivation from a sort of getting-revenge-plot. On the one hand he´s always pretty happy when he has to fight Aladdin, but on the other hand elaborates some plans just to get rid of Aladdin for good.

Mozenrath´s power origins from the gauntlet he is wearing on his right hand. It either increases his magic or gave the magic to him in the first place. To his disadvantage the Gauntlet is draining the life from his body. From the arm under the gauntlet already nothing remains but mere bone.

Mozenrath differs from the stereotype Disney villain. He is neither ugly nor stupid or much older than the hero. In fact Mozenrath is hardly older than Aladdin, he is well dressed, very intelligent and overall a very pretty sight. On other terms he is quite the exact opposite to Aladdin. While the latter is usually dressed poorly, Mozenrath is dressed richly. While Aladdin has the dark complexion of an arabian boy, Mozenrath is pale due to living in the Land of the Black Sand which is hidden in fog or dark clouds. Where Aladdin has a good idea of justice and of the ways of life, Mozenrath feels that any means are justified as long as they serve the purpose and he tends to feel being treated unfairly whenever the heros get the overhand.

Mozenrath is acompanied by Xerxes a flying eel that is able to communicate in broken english and who is a loyal minion to his master.

Mozenrath was voiced by the late Jonathan Brandis (except for the episode "Black Sand", that was Jeff Bennett).
